When I have had down times in my life, words and music have always had the power to help me remember that others have had similar experiences. I could read a special poem or listen to a special song, and all of a sudden, the pain was more bearable, someone out there really understood, and I was no longer alone. Artists can touch our souls, inspire us, speak to us, transform us in a way that no other person can.
I offer you three of my own personal favorite pieces of writing. These are easily found on the Internet, sometimes with lots of other reference material and notes as to their original sources. Feel free to read additional material, but focus on the message of the original works themselves. Just type these titles into your browser one at a time, sit back, reflect, and consider their messages:
OR – fire up your I-tunes or favorite music search engine and check out my list. The words tell such powerful stories! Yes, I am mostly stuck in the 60s and 70s, but the inspirational messages are forever! Enjoy!
To John Winston Ono Lennon…for expressing so many feelings during my adolescence and for daring to Imagine a world at peace...
And to George Harrison...for finding spiritual riches in a material world.

Please email your favorite inspirational poem(s) or song title(s) to me, along with the name of the author or recording artist, and I’ll post them periodically with your first name only (or if you prefer you can send a made-up name) on my What’s New page. YOUR Inspiration may turn out to help someone else!
